Astro Gaming Has Been Bought Out

Astro Gaming

Astro Gaming has been bought out. Astro of course is known for their line of gaming headsets. The A40 & A50 models are two of the best known ones offered and work with PS4, Xbox One, & PC. But as they are high-end headsets, they tend to be priced at more than $200, which might be a bit much for  some gamers.

So who bought the headset manufacturer? Well it’s being acquired by Logitech, who also happens to make headsets, though Logitech is probably better known for its keyboards and mice. Logitech paid $85 million for Astro and its expected that the sale will be finalized next month.

Ujesh Desai (Vice President & General Manager for the Logitech G brand) said that the gaming headsets made by Astro will be a “perfect compliment to Logitech G’s focus on PC gaming.” Meanwhile, Astro’s Co-Founder & President, Jordan Reiss said:

“The whole team at Astro has always held Logitech and Logitech G products in the highest regard, so I’m ecstatic we are joining forces. Astro’s brand strength combined with Logitech G’s unrivaled technology and global distribution network is going to bring our products to even more gamers around the world.”

Logitech also issued press release regarding their purchase of Astro.

“With the addition of Astro, we’re investing in an adjacent gaming market — the console gaming market — to help accelerate the long-term growth of our gaming business. In FY 2018, we expect the acquisition of Astro to add approximately two points of growth to the to p line, and to be slightly dilutive to the bottom line in the first year, as we integrate the business and invest to expand Astro internationally.”
